2nd try for Orange Ogura Cake

You know i have this special thinking of not giving up one, so i try again with carefully every step and preparation. To my surprise, my egg yolk separation this time all successful without fail of one egg yolk spoil. I believe practice makes perfect. Keep on the spirit!


 
 All the ingredients.... I use 6egg yolk that equals to 6 egg white batter later.


 And so the part A mixing done, i added some poppy seeds.

The mixing of Part B, the egg white part job. For me is already a challenge which i can cope with.. Once you able to beat correct method egg whites, others is not a problem anymore.



And here's the result. For the 1st 30mins, start to increase the height..


Another 10mins later, getting higher...


And another 10mins later, the size height stop at that level.. How i wish when i take out the cake can maintain to this size...



Once remove from the oven, is like a baloon getting empty all the air's and shrink to this size....




Aiya, anyhow is improve a little bit achievement compare to last time.

24th Christmas Eve Steamboat

Here it goes the Fried Mihun that i prepare, i'm using oyster sauce to fried this mihun with added some black kicap sauce to add some coloring.. Normally i will use those Bihun Kasar coz is much nicer.. What do you think ?




Tadaaa....... Only 1 person (Which is Me) prepare all these steamboat  ingredients, from washing and cutting, and now i know preparing Steamboat thing is not an easy.. Luckily is just prepare for around 10ppl, i still can cover and settle it.





 The very big christmas tree which we place it on the living hall. Filled up with the presents from friends for exchange present later.


We also bought Savanna 4 bottles, i add some lemon because it is nice to drink with it.

During 冬至 Festival, i just made some simple glutinous rice and also bought those frozen tong yuen which have the black sesame filling.

Orange Ogura Cake (相思蛋糕)

Last Saturday i try new challenge to bake an Ogura Cake, i think the 1st time for me to try bake this quite challenging too, i found the recipe from the website. Soooo sad that is failed because it shrink a lot...you know is really a lot, from big size to become a mini size (looks like mini cheese cake). I don't know which part went wrong..  I only know that during baking time in oven, i saw the cake raise very high, but at the end after the time baking is end, i didn't take it out, about 5-10mins later i only take it out, and surprise me...



So when i turn upside down of the egg white, it does not fall down, so i consider this is ok already...right?


So here is the mixing part of the egg yolk, orange juice, milk, corn oil and etc....


And then fold in 1/3 of the egg whites batter into the egg yolk batter.. Fold till finish.


I follow the recipe to add in also the poppy seeds..


And then i pour the batter into 9'' square pan, i wonder if the paper can be put like this? Or just allowed to put in bottom of the pan..? Someone please advise?

After finish mixing all the things and folding session, i put in the tray with the method Steam Bake water on the bottom.. by the time when i insert the cake to bake, i only pour the water on the bottom baking tray (for steam bake).. Is it this step is wrong and i should pour the water when i reheat the oven that time?



And.... Tadaaaa..... my very 1st time failed of Ogura cake, so flat.......but anyhow still can be eaten..




I still dont know what went wrong actually.. is it the oven is too hot, or is it the paper cannot be insert in the baking 9inch square pan ? Or liquid too much..?





There goes my flat Ogura Orange Cake flavour...... It still taste nice and moist, very rich orange juice flavour, if the cake is in the standard size, that would be very ichiban and miracle for me already... T.T

A visit to Bake With Yen Shop

Finally i make my time to paid a visit to this Bakery Shop selling plenty of bakery needs.. Actually i went there to stock up some accessories for the baking needs, especially the piping bag and accessories, i need it for the Black Forest Cake, the 1st time i try to bake this cake it is failed already. You know i failed in which section? The beating egg white section for the sponge cake (not at stiff peak form) and also purchase wrong whipped cream, my recipe required me to buy the Non-Dairy, and so i ask this A Bakery shop, she say this is the Non-Dairy whipped cream, mana tau when i purchase and whip it, it does not successfull become a cream because the one i bought is a Dairy products.. Duhh....


And CNY Season is coming, so i buy this baking tray for cookies, and at the same time can it use for making sponge cake ?? Suitable??


And the Dry Yeast, purchase it for stock up in case i need it.. They say if after use already, keep in a dry container and store in refrigerator. Is that true? By the way, can we make bread without those kneading machine, meaning using manual method by hand? I heard that it will be quite messy compare using those kneading machine. But too bad i don't have kneading machine in my kitchen.


A repeat baking of Butter Cake

Again, yesterday i bake this Mrs. Ng SK Vanilla Butter Cake. Haha.. i can direct bake and mix those ingredients without looking at the recipe liao... actually i bake for my husband sister and MIL, they are coming to stay at our house, and they want to try this cake i bake one (coz they never try before). And so yesterday nite i start my job measuring ingredients from 9pm, to baking all done by 11pm. Fuyoohhh.. so tired lo reli and somemore a little bit stress, every time when separating the egg white with the yolk is the most challenging task. Because if my egg white is not archived, everything is just failed.


So great that big oven can fit in 2 baking pan.. I can save my time.. LOL
Actually another round type one i bake for my colleague to give them taste my skill ma..
Now i'm already getting use to the oven, how to set the temperature, which mode best suit the baking needs..


And ar And ar.. Christmas is coming real soon, we bought a Christmas Tree just to warm up the atmosphere, see the Christmas tree also feel happy in heart already. Planning to organize Steamboat with bunch of Friends like a gathering and also exchange christmas gift (although i'm not a christian).



And when i'm hungry, i just could not went to bed to sleep without filling up my stomach. SUPPER, yeah...
Either i eat those mee cup, or if my mood swing very good ar, i will go and fried maggie mee like those mamak style.. serve with Honey Ice Drink.. Jeng...

Some tomato, vege, but don't have tofu..haha

Dinner for Two

So my dear requesting me to cook a dinner for this Sunday nite, and he requested for me to cook this few dishes will be enough for him. And so i went to Tesco on noon time to buy the ingredients. This time i accidentally purchase the fish which is quite big size, next time i will buy smaller size so that it is just enough, not too over.


Tadaaa... This was my fried fish with soy sauce sprinkle with little bit of fried garlic..


This is the braised chicken with oyster sauce, serve with some broccoli (some green color for healthier) instead of all is meat..

And this is the most simple yet tasty fried Onion, i bet everyone knows how to make this...

Copycat KXC Fried Chicken

Few days ago when i browsing thru website searching for recipe's, i found Nasi Lemak Lover this Copycat KXC Fried Chicken, and sudden through my mind give me a decision must try this recipe. And there goes my Sunday activity.

2nd time re-Bake Mrs. Ng SK Vanilla Butter Cake

This is my second time again to bake the same type of cake which is Mrs. Ng SK Vanilla Butter Cake. My parents love this cake alot, and i think when i learn of beating the egg whites to stiff peak successful, everything which involve this method is not hard anymore. 

The cake stay moist and fragrance enough even keep on the next day.



Look how cool the cake is.. slice and ready to be serve for tea time..


And not to be forgotten, do you spot the baby blue rice cooker? Is newly bought few days ago from SenHeng. I quite surprise actually the rice cooker got in blue color one instead of white color that we normally saw it. We also purchase an iron which is also baby blue color. So everything is blue color, is also my favourite color..hehe...
